Materials Coordinator

Are you an experienced Materials Controller, Materials Coordinator or MRP Controller looking for a new opportunity to progress?

We are currently looking for a Materials Controller to join a growing life sciences company based in the Hertfordshire area. This is a hybrid role, where you can work from home 2-3 days per week.

As the Materials Controller you will be responsible for controlling MRP and IFS recommendations and data sets to ensure optimum stock levels in line with S&OP and manufacturing plans. Accountability for materials being available on time and in full. Accountable for the following areas against set KPIs:

Optimum stock level recommendations for all safety stock and re-order points products
Dashboard reporting for optimum stock levels


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Materials Controller will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Continually review and update re-order point and safety stock levels. Create optimum re-order point and safety stock calculations. Liaise with buyers and category managers on stock profiles.

2. Develop a thorough understanding of the S&OP process and react to changes. Liaise closely with warehouse to react to space constraints. Liaise closely with Procurement to create or amend Minimum Order Quantities, Pallet Quantities and Supplier lead times on Purchased Parts.

3. Create/Update/Activate/Deactivate the link between Purchased Parts and Suppliers. Maintain IFS Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) settings. Update/Activate/Deactivate the link between Purchased Parts and Suppliers. Ensure the New Stock Item (NSI) process is followed for stock, MRP items and lot tracked material requirements.

4. Carry out route cause analysis on stock issues and create & share lessons learned documents. Attend Materials Review Board (MRB) Meetings and review NSI requests. Liaise with planning team on understand product structures (Bill of Materials BOM). Complete detailed analysis of stock profiles with planning, procurement and warehouse teams. Work closely with internal stakeholders on their stock requirements.

5. Escalate stock out situations to buyer and category managers. Proactively review system settings to prevent future stock out situations.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Materials Controller we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Prior MRP Controller / Materials Controller experience. You will have experience with MRP or ERP systems, and have stakeholder engagement skills.

2. Good communications skills, intermediate MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint, and data analysis experience.
