You will be part of a dedicated IT organization. You will have a role where you are responsible for driving our new SaaS application architecture together with our business and IT teams, developing and implementing IT solutions to support ongoing as well as new revenue streams.

We are looking for a passionate Application software architect to join us in our office which is in Valby, Copenhagen. You will take part & have opportunity to map the AS IS & define the TO BE application architecture, in addition to oversee the design and development of the application.

As an application architect, you will work as part of the application team to define the SaaS architecture & shape the future of the travel industry. You will be working with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment solving unique and challenging software architecture and developing innovative solutions closely with the product owner & development team to achieve the product roadmap.

This role will give you the opportunity to sit close to the business which will enable you to frequently evaluate the application vision & the product roadmap according to the business & the market value.

A friendly team of talented and experienced Engineers, with frequent white-board brainstorming, pair programming, and focus sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Application architecture style based on the application requirements.
  • Convert the problems into technical architecture designs
  • Drive the software development & implementation, by working closely with the Development team.
  • Design technical architecture flow across several microservices and software architecture.
  • Define technical improvement areas and drive the software implementation.
  • Build high quality, well-tested software considering cross platform compatibility, scalability, security, and redundancy strategies.
  • Maintain & enhance the product road map including the following:
    • Product vision and strategy, methods of implementation
    • Priorities (short-term and long-term)
    • Indication of progress (current and expected)
    • Desired and planned functionality

Professional skills

  • 3+ years of experience with Application Architecture/design and Application refactoring.
  • Proven software development experience with microservices on cloud hyperscale (MS Azure), Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience in Cloud DevOps and/or CI/CD Pipelines or other similar deployment tools
  • Detailed knowledge with languages, frameworks & technologies including:
    • .NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript (e.g. Angular or React),
    • REST, SOAP, API management and Service Bus (SB)
    • JSON, XML, CSV
  • Experience in using architectural and design tools
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, on different technical levels, as well as with developers and consultants.
  • Obtained relevant Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect is a plus

We issue more than 200,000 flight tickets per year and have approx. 200 agents on our customer list in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, and we only cooperate with travel agencies. We have our own IT department, have developed our own agent portal farewise.dk, our own back-office system TravelWise, and work continuously to improve existing systems and develop new ones. All this to support our mission, which is to issue flight tickets and provide better, easier, and faster tools for travel agencies.
