I am recruiting for a BI Developer/Engineer for an exceptionally talented team who work with the latest cloud data technology alongside Looker including Snowflake DBT, Fivetran and Matillion to name a few.

They partner with businesses to evaluate, develop, and deploy end-to-end data solutions across Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Science, ETL/ELT and more.

The role

• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience deploying, administering and developing BI platforms.
• They will also be a strong leader, communicator and used to working with all levels of business users, especially C-level.
• A deep understanding of data strategy, vision, methodology and the importance of these in an enterprise organisation is a must. An ‘always learning’, the consultative-type character is also essential.
• You will also feel comfortable holding training/requirements workshop sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• A good understanding of advanced Looker functionality, methodology and modelling techniques with the ability to demonstrate this is an absolute must-have.

What skills you will need

• Looker expert (not a dashboard builder) – modelling, admin, performance tuning, resource monitoring, liquid and advanced Looker techniques
• Data modelling – DTs, PDTs, nested queries, advanced modelling techniques with Looker/SQL
• Advanced SQL across different dialects
• Advanced report building in Looker – custom visualisations, Sankey, HTML, tile click through, header navigation etc.
• Consultative expert on reporting design principles, keeping in-line with Looker best practices
• Good understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, relational data models and structuring data
