My client, headquartered in the UK, were established almost 40 years ago and provide specialised field engineering services to the ophthalmic, printing, healthcare and cinema sectors across Europe.

They're currently seeking an experienced engineer to work with a major print equipment manufacturer as the focal point to their customers in need of immediate on-site technical assistance. The role will involve follow-up on remote diagnosis, resolving the problem as quickly as possible in order to enable the customer to remain operational at all times. You will be expected to install, configure, maintain and repair systems as well as demonstrate a proactive approach and contribute to maintenance related activities. The systems you will work on are complex and require quick learning and understanding; they will require the ability to rapidly identify the nature of complex issues and to provide optimal solutions.

You will be required to complete a 6 month “immersion” period with the manufacturer which will include intensive training, including training at the manufacturers facilities in Barcelona. Once fully trained, you will be responsible for working remotely within an area commutable from Dublin, with the occasional requirement to travel overseas if required.

Requirements for the successful candidates are:

- A professional with an intermediate or higher vocational technical background covering both mechanics and electronics with at least three years of experience in a similar field engineer position and environment.

- Passionate about engineering and with an understanding of customer focus.

- A problem solver who appreciates quick action and measurable results.

- Enjoys a diverse working environment.

- Advanced knowledge in the field of electro-mechanical engineering.

- Strong troubleshooting skills down to electronics component level

- Detailed knowledge of electronic/electrical components including 3 phase mains power.

- Ability to read circuit diagrams

- Experience with installation and break down of equipment

- Willingness to travel

- Valid driving licence

- Strong communication skills.
