IT Business Partner

Our client is a fast-growing online retailer, who has been growing rapidly and is ready to bring on an internal IT Business Partner to help take the business to the next level.

Working in a small business of sub 50, your role will be to review and standardise the current IT environment. The business is an online-only retailer, with a web platform, accounting software, WMS software, and business reporting technology that won't be the best fit as the business scales rapidly. There are currently two outsourced suppliers - A web agency for the web design changes, and an IT support contract for any IT support challenges.

The current systems integration and architecture need a full review and gap analysis with recommendations for new systems that could offer fully integrated solutions and business improvements. The IT Business Partner would be responsible for reviewing the current environment, deciding what would fit best, and making that business case to the board, then seeing any new system implementations through to delivery. This would include

  • Web hosting
  • Web platform
  • All 3rd party systems & plug-ins, for example, customer service platforms such as live chat, onsite visual merchandising tools, data capture lightboxes, payment system integrations, delivery, and returns integrations, email service provider, etc.
  • Google Analytics
  • Mobile apps - exploration, execution, analysis.
  • End-to-end Integration of all website enhancements, for example, customer exchanges, system transaction emails, mass product upload systems, integration with stock management systems & warehouse, etc.
  • In-house Customer database ownership and all aspects, including, GDPR compliance, efficient automated exportation of data, customer segmentation build, etc.
  • There are currently a number of manual reports being created for dashboards, which would need to be automated, and a number of process improvements that could likely be made with the right technology systems.

The role would be as a partner to the eCommerce team but would develop and grow with the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a growing eCommerce business, and really put your own stamp on IT.

The client is based in Cheshire but at the moment everyone is working remotely. It is envisaged that hybrid working will take place, with 3 days a week likely onsite post-pandemic. They have a fantastic flexible working policy, and it isn’t unheard of for meetings to end due to school runs. A real work-life balance is encouraged for everyone.

Salary would be open dependent on experience level, and applications are encouraged from candidates who are ready to make a jump into this type of role, as well as candidates who are currently managing a large IT team but want to take a step back into this type of challenge with a startup.

It is envisaged that as the business grows that this role would become part of the Senior Leadership team so there are fantastic growth options with the role.

The role would be commutable from Manchester, Cheshire, Macclesfield, Warrington, and Derbyshire.
