My client is an industry leading print business, established over 60 years ago they are a pioneer within the marketing and communications side of the industry. Based at their Runcorn facility, they are currently seeking Machine Assistants to support the smooth running of their production department.

The ideal candidate will be interested in working in the print industry, is hard working and used to working in a busy warehouse or production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to develop a career within print, as in time you will be trained up to operate printers and other associated machinery.

This role is working on a rolling weekly shift pattern of earlies, afternoons, and nights.
6am-2pm (Mon-Fri), 2pm-10pm (Mon-Fri), and 10pm-6pm (Sun-Thu).
Some flexibility around these hours is required in this role as overtime is regularly available and is paid at 1.75x base rate.

The Role

  • Work closely with printer operators and other departments within production to ensure they have the stock they need
  • To maintain a clean and tidy workspace
  • To keep waste levels to a minimum and to move any waste etc into the relevant recycling bins
  • To source, pick and move stock around the production facility
  • Deliver against internal KPIs
  • Assisting with the end-to-end production workflow including associated communications, ensuring that quality procedures are followed throughout the production cycle and delivery of each project on time
  • Managing a busy workload efficiently and effectively.

The Person

  • Has reasonable levels of physical fitness and is and capable of lifting loads of up to 15kg (when required)
  • Able to think on their feet and prioritise tasks based on the requests of the production department
  • Is familiar with working in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Has a proactive approach to work – always willing to learn and working to improve processes to ensure business efficiency

Salary + Benefits
Salary circa £18-£20k based on experience, plus benefits including overtime paid at 1.75x base rate, excellent private pension scheme, competitive holiday allowance (25 days), and more.
