We are working with one of the UK’s largest food production companies, who have sites at multiple locations throughout the UK. They are looking for a Procurement Category Lead, for their Distribution and Industrial Gases division.
Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you’ll be responsible for maintaining multi-million pound contracts and renewal programmes for the fleet of vehicles, MHE, industrial gases (CO2, O2 and N2) and chemical categories.
You know procurement inside out, having your CIPS qualification under your belt already, and you’ll have experience of handling multiple complex contracts at the same time, as this will be an important part of your role here.
Your focus here will be on the category strategy, optimisation and process improvement, as well as delivering your individual, department and business goals.
During your day to day, you’ll be performing spend, contract and market analysis for distribution, industrial gases and chemical categories, complete tenders, identify opportunities for supplier consolidation across sites, look for ways to reduce costs and risks.
As you’ll be dealing with stakeholders at all levels within the business and externally, so you’ll be someone that is personable and can adapt their style depending on the audience; knowing that some people like short and sharp reasoning and others will want to know the finer details.
You’ll get a salary of up to £55,000 doe, and be a commutable distance to the Brackley or Telford offices, where you’ll be on site 2/3 days a week in this hybrid role.
