We are looking for an experienced Service Designer to join a fast-paced digital team delivering services within the NHS. This is a fully remote contract role, open to UK-based candidates only, with an immediate start and running until March.
You will play a key role in designing and improving end-to-end services that meet user needs and align with organisational and policy constraints. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams including product managers, delivery managers, user researchers, content designers, and developers.
Design and iterate end-to-end services that meet user needs and NHS objectives
Apply GDS Service Standard and design principles throughout discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases
Map user journeys, service blueprints, and ecosystems across complex healthcare services
Collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and digital teams
Use research and data to inform service design decisions
Support teams through service assessments and design assurance processes
Proven experience as a Service Designer working on NHS projects
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of GDS standards and ways of working
Experience working within UK government or public sector digital services
Confidence working in complex, regulated environments
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Rate: £472 per day
