DFDS is heavily accelerating our cloud journey for existing IT infrastructure and application landscape. To achieve this, we are building a ‘Cloud Factory’ organization to lay down infrastructure, build a self-service portal and a containerization team to migrate existing applications. The purpose of the Cloud Engineering team at DFDS is simultaneously to provide a stable and secure cloud platform and to merge the ongoing evolution of cloud-native software and infrastructure design with DFDS’ needs. We are looking for a person with the drive and desire to build a modern and open platform team.
DFDS has worked with Cloud and Kubernetes the past 5 years, slowly transforming DFDS’ Software Development capability but now we need to make a step change.
We have a team of SRE’s and Cloud Engineers, and we need a hands-on team lead that can guide and lead the team on a daily basis. This includes line management of 10 people and career and competence building for the team members. You will lead our team of Cloud Engineers and SREs - developing an efficient infrastructure supporting container workloads and our self-service developer platform.

Things are moving fast, and we need a steady hand to guide us securely forward in our cloud journey and how we take our software delivery capabilities to the next level.
As the Team Lead of the Cloud Engineering, you will spearhead the adoption of cloud in DFDS by
i) building and defining the Cloud infrastructure
ii) empowering developers to consume Cloud resources easily and safely
We have a senior SRE lead handling the day-to-day management of work for the SREs so you will need to lead the developer resources, building the self-service platform and ensure the overall alignment and direction. In addition, the role has the line management responsibility for the whole team (Developer resources, SREs and SRE Lead).
It is a huge but highly rewarding challenge of strategic importance for DFDS.

We expect you to have solid developer and cloud experience. Knowledge and practical experience with all the following technologies and architectures are not a requirement but a nice to have - we do however expect that you have experience with at least some of them:
As this is the lead role for a team driving transformation in a big enterprise you need to have both the drive and tenacity to see that through and understand that change is hard. We need the team to have an entrepreneurial spirit but also accept the more mundane work of scaling solutions beyond quick MVPs to support the whole enterprise and as a leader we expect you to be a role model for that.
