Test Engineer
This role reports to the Test Manager, and its remit includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
? Implementing existing test plans for developed software
? Providing input for software test plans
? Designing test cases for test plans
? Reviewing software test cases and checking of same
? Monitoring standards set by software testing authorities
? Performing manual testing on functionality of software
? Reporting defects and problems that occurred during the test process
? Performing regression test duties
? Using a tracking system to track reported problems with software
? Preparing software test evaluation reports
? Implementing and participating in walkthroughs of software
? Contributing to planning, retrospective, daily and ad hoc meetings as required
? Ad hoc test activities as directed by Test Lead

Qualifications & Training
|
- Degree in a software engineering or related discipline or equivalent level of education AND / OR
- A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role

Skills and Experience
|
- Knowledge of modern test methodologies
- Good analytical skills
- Knowledge of SDLC
- Proven problem solving skills
- Understanding of the iterative software development lifecycle
- Ability to contribute to all aspects of the development lifecycle (with test focus)
- Experienced in API testing using POSTMAN or other similar tools
- Experienced in testing web and desktop applications
- Experienced in agile software development
- Knowledge of testing approaches and techniques
- Basic understanding of test automation principles/techniques
- Knowledge in concepts of databases
- Basic knowledge of SQL

- Experience in Healthcare / Tele
Health industry ? Experience of test automation tools
- Knowledge of safety critical or
performance critical systems
- Experience using Visual Studio Online for SDLC
- Experience or desire to learn automation utilising C# and specflow

- Focussed on the delivery of effective, thorough testing. ? Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, are essential. A large part of the role involves accurate and thorough communication of concepts, requirements and solutions. Tester must be able to understand decisions made, questioning appropriately. Also needs to accurately describe functional errors.
- Attention to detail – some testing is likely to include life critical systems.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team or individually when required
- Adaptability – agreed changes to functionality, processes or workloads must be accommodated, often at short notice.
- Organised - able to work on multiple projects or functional areas simultaneously
- Able to adopt a pragmatic approach where circumstances allow (deadlines / multiple priorities)
