The UK Technology Recruitment market is THE most competitive recruitment market in the world. Your role as a Trainee Consultant at Spinks will be to identify, engage and ultimately place highly sought-after technology professionals within the Mortimer Spinks client universe.

Working to specific client briefs, you will be searching for technology professionals using all of the modern search tools/techniques made available to you. You will arrange and attend meetings with in-demand candidates and conduct pre-screening interviews (both on the phone and face to face) based on thorough CV qualifying techniques. You will execute offers made by our clients to your candidates and ‘close-off’ all other external offers before making successful placements.

In addition to making placements against your targets, your success will also be measured by how entrepreneurial you are. Attending events, technical meet-ups, gathering intel on new clients that are hiring and producing high-quality sales leads for you to follow-up yourself will all be crucial to your success.

When it comes to winning new business;

CRM adoption

The quality and completeness of the data you record on a day to day basis is central to your ability to proactively manage the full recruitment life-cycle. Building your unique client and candidate universe within the CRM is a core requirement of the job and will deliver far-reaching benefits to you and the wider Spinks business.

Performance Measures

Quality of Business/Time Management

  • Active clients
    • New Business generated and converted, by client
    • Number of client meetings attended and outcomes
    • Delivery track record for past quarter /client
    • Depth of stakeholder engagement
  • Live Jobs
    • Number of jobs picked up
    • Number of workable jobs based on interview slots
    • Number of offers rejected
    • Offer to placement ratio
  • Time to Hire
    • Average time to hire by client and overall
  • New GP generated (via CMS and Perm report)
  • Repeat GP generated (via CMS and Perm report)

Client Engagement/Market Perception

  • Client Engagement
    • LinkedIn recommendations / Client Engagement survey results
  • Personal Brand/Expertise
    • Network map
    • Evidence of external activity ( events, blogs etc)
    • Attending a minimum of 12 external meet ups per year
    • ROI and tracked revenue from event activity
    • Evidence of collaboration and any resulting GP

CRM Adoption

  • Recording number of live jobs
  • Recording CV’s sent against live jobs
  • Recording number of interviews scheduled ( each stage)

Targets for progression; Trainee to Consultant

Contract recruitment

  • An individual must demonstrate consistent activity against all the performance measures highlighted above to be considered for promotion.
  • Alongside the above, a Trainee must have successfully delivered 10 Resource Deals (£2k min fee and/or13 weeks) or £100k in real billings)

Permanent recruitment

  • An individual must demonstrate consistent activity against all the performance measures highlighted above to be considered for promotion.
  • Alongside the above, a Trainee must have successfully delivered 10 Resource Deals (£2k min fee) or £100k in real billings

Trainee salary banding:

£20,000 pa starting salary

£22,500 pa upon passing probation

£25,000 pa promotion to Consultant
